It’s true, the Ford F-150 is the most popular truck in America. But popularity doesn’t exactly improve durability. There are two Japanese full-size trucks that are proven to last for years longer than the F-150.

The numbers are in and they aren’t in favor of the Ford F-150. It’s still a great truck to consider purchasing. However, two Japanese alternatives might last longer on the road.
iSeeCars performed a study to determine the most reliable new trucks for the money. This combines a low purchase price with a long lifespan.
It analyzed the prices of over 3.8 million new cars sold between July and December 2024 and compared its findings to the odometer readings of over 368 million used cars.
The Toyota Tundra takes the top spot. It has an average list price of $61,794 and is expected to last for about 15.6 years. It has a $3,966 price per year.
Then in second place, we have the Nissan Titan, despite it being recently discontinued. It has an average list price of $58,080 and should last for 13.1 years. It has an annual cost of $4,447.
The Ford F-150 is actually in fifth place, behind the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and its fancier brother, the GMC Sierra 1500.
An average F-150 price is $59,584 and it’s projected to last for about 11 years on the road. It has an annual cost of $5,398.
On the list of the best mid-size trucks for the money, we have a similar story. The Toyota Tacoma, Honda Ridgeline, and Nissan Frontier each come ahead of the Ford Ranger.
