Let’s call it $130,000. $130,000 is no small sum. In the not-so-distant past, you could buy two nice houses for this amount. Instead, these days you can buy one, albeit very cool and very modified, 2020 Ford Raptor Shelby Baja.

This is clearly not your run-of-the-mill pickup truck. This particular supertruck was given the business by none other than the Shelby squad

How much does a 2020 Ford Raptor cost?

The Ford Raptor is in a constant battle for off-road supertruck supremacy with the Ram TRX. From the factory in its most basic form, a 2020 Ford Raptor is nothing to shake a stick at. Originally this truck had a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 making 450 hp.

According to CarScoops, the MSRP on this truck was $75,290, with an extra $17,505 of optional extras ordered from Ford. The lion’s share of the optional extras is the $10,920 Equipment Group 802A.

This package adds a power-sliding rear window, tow monitoring, 4.10 front axle, and a Torsen differential. It also comes with a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, heated steering wheel, remote start, a sound system from B&O, and more still.

What did Shelby do to this 2020 Ford Raptor?

The full name of this supertruck superstar is the 2020 Ford F-150 Shelby Raptor Baja Supercrew. What that means is a truck that is number 137 out of 250 made that year. These are limited production super soldiers in the fight against dunes and other various desert landscapes.

According to CarScoops, this truck was sent to Shelby for its final transformation. Shelby fitted the 2020 Ford Raptor with a set of limited 18-inch wheels with two bed-mounted spares for when nature tries to bite back

Shelby also raised this bad boy with a proprietary lift kit and Fox Racing shocks. The front and rear bumpers, ram air hood, extra-large power steps with rock sliders and lights, Shelby decals, front and rear spotlights, and a retractable light bed on the bed-mounted rollover bar also come courtesy of the Shelby.

Yeah, but is it faster?

It’s Shelby, isn’t it? The original 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 was no slouch, to begin with, but Shelby hooked it up with some extra juice. They fitted a larger intercooler, an oversized air intake with a high flow filter, power programmer, and performance exhaust to increase horsepower from 450 to 525 and 610 lb-ft of torque.

Not only does this super Raptor exist, but it’s for sale. According to CarScoops, this 2020 Ford Raptor Shelby creation only has 673 miles on it. I’m not totally sure why someone would go through the trouble of building such a rad truck and not driving it, but it is what it is.

This, basically brand-new 2020 Ford Raptor can be yours for $128,900. It doesn’t say how much the Shelby treatment cost. If we figure the base model price of $75,000 plus the $17,000 in options, that’s already around $92,000.

If you take all the parts and work that Shelby did and add the model’s exclusivity, the seemingly wild price actually adds up.
