Clever vanity plates have become a point of pride — the best even end up on social media for the world to see. EV owners especially love to poke fun at gas guzzlers. And some of the following Tesla license plates are brutally savage (or just plain annoying). We’ll let you decide.

WOW ELON

Few people know the name of a car company’s CEO, much less put it on a license plate. It’s not as bad as getting a tattoo with your boss’s name on your arm, but some might still question the choice.

However, Elon Musk is such a public (and polarizing) figure that few probably don’t know his name. That said, the above Tesla license plate takes the cake for praising a CEO.

LOL OPEC

If you’re as sick of learning government acronyms as the rest of us, you may not know what “OPEC” stands for. That’s OK. It means the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.

This Tesla owner is mocking the fact that OPEC will no longer get money from them. Too bad we can’t all say that.

NOMO GAZ

Breaking up can be hard, especially if you’ve been going steady since the late 1880s. This Tesla owner found a simple way to let gas know it’s over by displaying it on their vanity plate. It’s short, sweet, and to the point. Even though there may be hurt feelings, “gaz” will likely move on to something new.

LOL OIL

Though green cars still have a ways to go before they’re mainstream, rising gas prices might help push more drivers toward EVs. If they can afford it, that is.

Even so, this driver has no issues with mocking oil. In a few short years, it might seem like an outdated joke that only those born pre-2022 get.

GAS SMH

There are road burns, and then there are vanity plate burns. In this case, the owner got the point across, much like an aunt who’s disappointed you’re still single at 22. It doesn’t hurt physically, but the emotional scars will last a lifetime.

NOFNGAS

One driver from the Sunshine State proudly displayed a Tesla license plate reading, “NOFNGAS.” We’ll let you fill in the blanks on that one. It’s brass, it’s crass, and it makes the point about how they feel about gas users.

KSMYGAS

This one is slightly more polite than “NOFNGAS.” It reads, “Kiss my gas.” But you can’t because Teslas don’t run on gas, so this one isn’t playing fair.

STPDGAS

Tesla owners aren’t shy about sharing their feelings about gas. This owner made it very plain and even put it in terms everyone can understand with their Tesla license plate, reading, “Stupid gas.” Diesel owners everywhere are probably muttering this right now.

YBUYGAS

“Why buy gas?” It’s a good question many people are probably asking themselves as fuel prices hit historic highs. And if EVs were cheaper and had better range, gas might be a thing of the past.

In the meantime, if Elon Musk ever ran for office (and that doesn’t seem impossible thanks to his recent crusade to stop the “woke mind virus,” Insider reports), this Tesla license plate could be his campaign slogan.

EWW GAS

This Tesla license plate doesn’t require much explanation. Some Tesla owners have a way with words, and this one has resorted to putting it in terms everyone understands. Can you feel the burn?
