The SUV segment is one of the most popular segments in the American auto market, leading to automakers expanding their SUV lineup dramatically. As a result, some car shoppers may have a tough time finding the most reliable SUVs that suit their needs, but that’s where car critics come along. Here’s a look at 10 of the most reliable luxury SUVs on the market.

10. BMW X5

iSeeCars recently published its list of the most reliable luxury SUVs, and the BMW X5 received a reliability score of 6.5 out of 10. The X5 is a midsize luxury SUV that starts at about $63,500. It is a solid choice all-around, but the fuel economy is where it shines. Its standard 335-hp engine gets about 24 mpg combined, which is great for the segment.

9. Lexus LX 570

The full-size luxury SUV from Lexus came in ninth place thanks to its reliability score of 7.2 out of 10. It starts at about $90,000, but the large Lexus has a number of problems. For example, the LX has an old design, making it worse than many of its rivals.

8. Lexus RX 350 

Although Lexus is well-known for its reliability, the RX is the highest-rated Lexus model on the list. It has a reliability score of 8 out of 10, and the midsize luxury SUV starts at about $47,000. It’s a good SUV, though, as it’s well-equipped, and the Japanese automaker gave it an extensive suite of intelligent safety features.

7. Buick Enclave

This midsize Buick SUV has the distinction of being the cheapest SUV on the list. It starts at about $35,000 and has a reliability score of 8.3 out of 10. The Enclave also has more cargo capacity than most of its rivals, maxing out at 97.4 cu-ft. 

6. Volvo XC90 

The XC90 is another midsize luxury SUV, and it has a reliability score of 8.9 out of 10. The Volvo SUV starts at about $48,000 and comes with three rows of seats as standard. Plus, its standard 245-hp mild-hybrid powertrain gets a good fuel economy of about 25 mpg combined.

5. Lincoln Navigator L

Although the Navigator L tied the XC90 in terms of its reliability score, it finished in fifth. It’s a longer version of the Navigator, bumping its cargo capacity by 15 cu-ft. It’s a full-size luxury SUV, though, starting at about $85,000. 

4. Acura MDX

The MDX was recently redesigned, which significantly improved the midsize luxury SUV. It has a reliability score of 9 out of 10, and it starts at just over $45,000. The redesign gave the car more space overall, and it also comes with more standard features.

3. Cadillac Escalade ESV

The Escalade ESV also has a reliability score of 9 out of 10, a larger version of the Escalade. It starts at about $78,000, improving the Escalade’s cargo capacity by about 16 cu-ft.

The regular Escalade also has a reliability score of 9 out of 10, and it’s only slightly cheaper than the Escalade ESV. It starts at about $76,500 but comes with plenty of luxury features, including a 16.9-inch touchscreen.

The Navigator is the most reliable luxury SUV, with a reliability score of 9.1 out of 10. The full-size luxury SUV starts at about $82,000, and it comes with many features. Notably, it can tow up to 8,300 pounds, which makes it one of the best SUVs for towing.
